HVAC Shell and Tube Shell/Condensers
In shell and tube condensers the process vapors flow through the tubes while cooling water is passing over the external surface in a counterflow arrangement. DESIGN. All connections are mounted with captive loose flange connections.
USES: In large power plants with steam-driven turbines, shell-and-tube surface condensers are used to condense the exhaust steam exiting the turbine into condensate water which is recycled back to be turned into steam in the steam generator. Shell & tube condensers are used in water chillers etc.
